Assistance is Available to Clean and Sanitize Your Home

If your home was damaged but you can live in it safely after the severe storms and flooding, FEMA may be able to provide you money to help with cleanup. This assistance is for eligible homeowners and renters.

You may qualify for FEMA assistance if you meet the following criteria:

  • Your pre-disaster primary residence is in a county designated for Individual Assistance.
  • FEMA verified you have disaster damage and your primary residence is safe to occupy.
  • If you have already cleaned up, save your receipts from any supplies, materials or paid help.
  • The damage is not covered by your insurance.

How to Apply 

The first step to receive FEMA assistance is to apply. There are four ways to apply: call the toll-free FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362, visit DisasterAssistance.gov, download the FEMA App or visit a Disaster Recovery Center. The phone line is open daily from 7 a.m. to midnight ET, and help is available in most languages. The deadline to apply for assistance for flooding is April 25, 2025.
