C.1. Applicant Mitigation Plan Requirements

All applicants for BRIC and FMA must have a FEMA-approved state or tribal (standard or enhanced) mitigation plan by the application deadline and at the time of obligation of the award.[84] State agencies and federally recognized tribal governments applying for HMGP and HMGP Post Fire assistance must have a FEMA-approved state or tribal (standard or enhanced) mitigation plan at the time of the major disaster declaration or FMAG declaration and at the time HMGP or HMGP Post Fire assistance is obligated to the recipient or subrecipient.[85] A lapse in the FEMA-approved mitigation plan will result in a temporary hold on additional obligations until the mitigation plan regains FEMA approval.
