ST. CROIX, Virgin Islands – Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) throughout the U.S. Virgin Islands will resume normal hours on January 2, 2018.
DRCs will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
DRCs offer in-person support to individuals and business owners. Recovery specialists from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will be at the centers to talk about assistance and to help anyone who needs guidance in filing an application. FEMA encourages everyone affected by hurricanes Irma and Maria to register for assistance.
After January 1, seven recovery centers will be open across the territory from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Survivors have until the January 8, 2018 deadline to register with FEMA for assistance and apply for SBA disaster loans for homeowners, renters and businesses of all sizes. Survivors with connectivity may register at DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 800-621-3362. Individuals who have a speech disability or hearing loss and use TTY should call 800-462-7585 directly. Those who use 711 or Video Relay Service (VRS) may call 800-621-3362.
These toll-free telephone numbers operate from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. (local time) seven days a week. Operators are standing-by to assist survivors in multiple languages.

Following major disasters, the U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is the primary source of Federal funds for long-term recovery assistance. This assistance is in the form of low-interest loans and is available to non-farm businesses of all sizes, private nonprofit organizations, as well as homeowners and renters with property damaged by the disaster.
