Pasco County will acquire and demolish a residential property to eliminate future damage from flood risks.
Pasco County, Florida: $265,176
Project Description
Pasco County plans to acquire and demolish a residential property as part of a mitigation project that involves demolishing a one-story residential structure built on a concrete slab and removing an existing shed. The utilities, including the well and septic tank, will be disconnected and abandoned below the finish grade of the site with the goal of eliminating future damage to the structure.
This will protect the occupants from potential flood losses that results in cost-savings for the property owner as well as the National Flood Insurance Program and protect against 100-year storm events. Project activities include clearing the site, converting the land into open space, and placing deed restrictions to ensure its long-term use as specified in FEMA program requirements while complying with federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
