Recovery Centers in Oregon, Ozark and Stone Counties Will Remain Open

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Three disaster recovery centers previously scheduled to close will remain open until further notice, serving survivors of the severe storms and flooding that occurred in Missouri between April 28 and May 11, 2017.

In coordination with Missouri’s Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the centers in Oregon, Ozark and Stone counties will continue to provide in-person support to individuals and businesses. Representatives from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) can answer questions on disaster assistance or low-interest disaster loans. Locations of recovery centers appear online at https://recovery.mo.gov/ and at www.fema.gov/DRC.

Disaster survivors in any county designated by the recent federal disaster declarations in Missouri and Arkansas can visit the centers, even if they don’t live in the county where the center is located.

Disaster recovery centers are open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., closed on Sundays.  Here are the centers that are open as of June 30.

The U.S. Small Business Administration offers low-interest disaster loans to businesses of all sizes, certain private nonprofit organizations, homeowners and renters. SBA also offers low-interest working capital loans (called Economic Injury Disaster Loans) to small businesses and nonprofit organizations having difficulty meeting obligations as a result of the disaster.

To register with FEMA:

  • Call 800-621-3362 between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. CST. Multilingual registration assistance is available. Those who use 711 or Video Relay Services may call 800-621-3362. Those who use TTY may call 800-462-7585; MO Relay 800-735-2966; CapTel 877-242-2823; Speech to Speech 877-735-7877; VCO 800-735-0135. Multilingual operators will be available from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week until further notice.
  • Go online to register online at DisasterAssistance.gov.
  • Use the FEMA app for smartphones.

The federal disaster declaration covers eligible losses caused by severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds and flooding between April 28 and May 11, 2017, in these counties: Bollinger, Butler, Carter, Douglas, Dunklin, Franklin, Gasconade, Howell, Jasper, Jefferson, Madison, Maries, McDonald, Newton, Oregon, Osage, Ozark, Pemiscot, Phelps, Pulaski, Reynolds, Ripley, Shannon, St. Louis, Stone, Taney, and Texas.
