Madison, Wis. –To help individuals with uninsured property damage caused by the late summer storms and flooding, FEMA offers multiple options to apply for federal assistance, including:
• Online at DisasterAssistance.gov;
• Using the FEMA App; or
• Calling 800-621-3362 (FEMA), including 711 and Video Relay callers. For TTY callers, use 800-462-7585. Call center hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. CT, seven days a week. Multilingual operators are available.
If you aren’t able to apply using one of these options, you can visit an open Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) to register. At DRCs, representatives from FEMA, U.S. Small Business Administration, Wisconsin Emergency Management and other State of Wisconsin agencies are also available to explain disaster assistance programs and answer questions about written correspondence. To find a DRC near you, go to FEMA.gov/DRC.
When you apply with FEMA—whether by phone, online, or if necessary, at a DRC—make sure to have the following information on hand:
• Social Security number;
• Address of the location where the damage occurred;
• Current address and phone number;
• Insurance information;
• Total household annual income;
• Routing and account number for your checking or savings account (this allows FEMA to directly transfer disaster assistance funds into your bank account);
