Local Hire employees are local residents who aid in the recovery of their community throughout the recovery process. This expedited hiring process helps to quickly grow the FEMA workforce while ensuring local representation and insight into the recovery process.  Local Hire employees are hired into 120-day appointments and may be extended based on the needs of the disaster.

Visit USAjobs.gov. Type the keywords “local hire” and enter your state to find positions near you. Follow the instructions on the job posting to submit an application package.
