Charlotte County Recovery at a Glance

Since the federal disaster declaration for Hurricane Ian, Charlotte County residents have received more than $239.5 million in federal funds as of Dec. 12, 2022:

  • $68.1 million in FEMA grants to homeowners and renters.
  • $171.4 million in U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) low-interest disaster loans approved for homeowners, renters, and businesses.

Individual Assistance in Charlotte County:

  • 54,452 homeowners and renters have been approved for $68,104,056 in federal grants through FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program. This includes:
    • $44,081,877 in Housing Assistance grants for home repair, home replacement, and/or rental assistance.
    • $24,022,179 in Other Needs Assistance grants to replace essential household items and for other critical disaster-related expenses.
  • 3,051 homeowners and renters have been approved for rental assistance.
  • Disaster Survivor Assistance (DSA) visited 20,000 households in Charlotte County.

U.S. Small Business Administration:

  • SBA has approved $171,473,970 in low-interest disaster loans to 2,515 applicants in Charlotte County.

Public Assistance:

  • Charlotte County was approved for assistance for debris removal, emergency protective measures and permanent work.
