Disaster Recovery Center in Montgomery County Will Transition to SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Center

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The State of Ohio and FEMA Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Dayton will close on Friday, Aug. 30 at the end of its regular business day. It will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 8 a.m. EDT as a Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) operated by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

After the DRC in Dayton is closed, FEMA will continue to provide support to survivors following the May 27-29 tornadoes, storms and flooding. They can contact FEMA in one of these ways:

• Visit DisasterAssistance.gov.
• Use the FEMA App on a smartphone. To download it, go to FEMA.gov/mobile-app.
• Call the FEMA Helpline, 800-621-3362 (TTY 800-462-7585). Phone lines are open from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. EDT, seven days a week until further notice. Multilingual operators are on duty.

When the Disaster Loan Outreach Center opens, SBA customer service representatives will be available to meet individually with businesses, homeowners and renters to answer their questions, explain the SBA’s low-interest disaster-assistance loans, help them complete their applications and close their approved loans.

Additionally, applicants may apply online using the SBA’s secure website at DisasterLoan.SBA.gov/ELA.
Also, for questions or more information, applicants may visit SBA.gov/Disaster. In addition, help is available by emailing DisasterCustomerService@sba.gov or by calling the SBA’s Customer Service Center, 800-659-2955. The deaf and hard-of-hearing may call 800-877-8339.

The DRC in Dayton opened on June 24, and it will continue its regular business hours until it closes on Aug. 30. The DRC will be open to the public from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. EDT today through Friday.

Survivors should register before visiting the DRC, where disaster-assistance programs can be explained, and answers can be provided to questions about written correspondence.

The deadline to register for federal assistance is Tuesday, Sept. 3.
