- The deadline to apply for FEMA disaster assistance has passed, but help is still available. Applicants should stay in touch with FEMA to keep their recovery on track. Missing or incorrect information could result in delays in receiving assistance.
- Survivors can stay in touch the following ways: Visit DisasterAssistance.gov; download the FEMA app; or call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 (TTY: 800-462-7585). Multilingual operators are available 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.
- While the deadline to apply with FEMA has passed, late applications may be accepted on a case-by case basis.
- 96 individuals and households have been approved for $591,643 in federal grants through FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program.
- Nearly $2.7 million in U.S. Small Business Administration low-interest disaster loans have been approved for 21 homeowners and renters and two businesses as of Dec. 18.
Housing Assistance:
- $467,310 in grants approved for housing repairs or replacement for 54 homeowners.
- $124,333 in grants have been approved for personal property, transportation and other disaster-related serious needs for 76 applicants.
- 255 home inspections have been issued with 99 percent completed.
- Linn County has been approved to participate in FEMA’s Direct Temporary Housing Program.
- Assistance for eligible survivors is available for up to 18 months from the date of the disaster declaration (Sept. 15, 2020 through March 15, 2022) while survivors work toward their long-term housing solution.
