Preventing and Addressing Disability Discrimination
The Preventing and Addressing Disability Discrimination webinar focuses on Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. FEMA is committed to providing equal access to people with disabilities. To be successful, recipients of FEMA funding must be equipped with the knowledge, tools and resources to ensure compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

FEMA is committed to equity, which is focused on the fair, just and impartial treatment of all individuals, including people from underserved communities. In support of this commitment, FEMA’s Office of Civil Rights is hosting a webinar that provides technical assistance on disability access and information about compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Section 504 prohibits discrimination because of a disability in programs and activities that receive federal financial assistance.
Prior to the event during registration, attendees will have the option to submit questions to the panelists. Reasonable accommodations can also be requested through the registration form.
