Event Details
The job event is for individuals interested in joining the Logistics Cadre of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The primary mission of the Logistics Cadre is to ensure the timely delivery of essential resources to support state, local, tribal governments, and territories during disaster operations. This includes delivering critical commodities and manufactured housing units. Logistics operates through eight distribution centers in the United States and OCONUS and has established contracts with public and private partners for additional support.
The responsibilities of the Logistics Cadre include resourcing and distributing inventory, coordinating delivery of FEMA assets, and requiring strong computer skills, including proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite.
The position is for reservists who must be available to deploy on 24-hour notice for a minimum of 275 days per year. However, availability for deployment does not guarantee deployment, and this role is temporary and intermittent, not a full-time job. Reservists fall under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act.
Standard deployment lengths within Logistics are for 30 to 90+ days, and deployments can occur anywhere in the United States and territories.
Positions needed include Logistics Specialist (LGSP) and Accountable Property Manager (APMG). The qualifications and skills for each position include assisting with accountable property management and overseeing inventory asset management.
Interested individuals can submit their resumes via email or bring them to a hiring fair, which includes a resume writing workshop and walk-in interviews. The event will take place on Friday, March 15th, 2024, at FEMA Long-Term Recovery Office in Saipan. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, 18 years or older, and possess a high school diploma or GED. Background investigations, including fingerprinting and credit checks, are required, and employees must participate in direct deposit for salary payment.
