FEMA has approved more than $2.3 million in federal funding to reimburse the Kentucky Division of Emergency Management for emergency protective measures, as a result of the Dec. 10-11, 2021 tornadoes.
On the night of Dec. 10, 2021, deadly tornadoes swept through Western Kentucky, causing an estimated $305 million in damage to homes, churches and businesses in Mayfield, Dawson Springs, Bowling Green and other communities.
FEMA has approved more than $3.3 million in federal funding to reimburse the City of Bowling Green for debris removal as a result of the Dec. 10-11, 2021, tornadoes.
Nine months after the federal disaster declaration for Kentucky following the Dec. 10-11 tornadoes, more than $95.7 million in federal assistance has been provided by FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration to support disaster recovery.
