Other Needs Assistance (ONA) falls under FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program and provides financial help after a disaster to cover necessary expenses and serious needs not paid by insurance or other sources. These needs may include transportation, childcare and medical and dental expenses. See below for an extensive list of Other Needs Assistance.

Tennesseans who experienced damage from the severe storms and flooding on Aug. 21 in Dickson, Hickman, Houston, and Humphreys counties may be eligible for funding for temporary rentals through FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program.

Homeowners and renters in Dickson, Hickman, Houston and Humphreys counties with uninsured damage or losses from the Aug. 21 severe storms and flooding have until Oct. 25, 2021 to apply to FEMA for federal disaster assistance and to the U.S. Small Business Administration for low-interest disaster loans.

One month after the federal disaster declaration for the Aug. 21 severe storms and flooding in Middle Tennessee, more than $9.3 million in federal funds has been provided directly to Tennesseans to aid in their recovery.

Humphreys County decided to participate in the National Flood Insurance Program after the severe storms and flooding that occurred on Aug. 21, which will soon make many previously ineligible residents eligible for federal assistance.
