The deadline for survivors of the June 25 –26 severe storms and flooding to register with FEMA for individual disaster assistance has been extended to Friday, November 12, 2021. The extension applies to survivors living in Wayne, Washtenaw, Macomb and Oakland counties.

Federal disaster assistance is now available to individuals in Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne counties who experienced disaster-related losses from the June 25 – 26 severe storms and flooding. It’s important to understand the resources available and how to access them to get the help you need. 

Michigan homeowners and renters in Macomb and Oakland counties, who have disaster-related losses from the severe storms and flooding of June 25-26, 2021, may now apply for federal disaster assistance.

As FEMA’s National Preparedness Month continues through the end of September, it’s important to remember disasters can happen any time and being prepared for them starts at home. Communicating disaster readiness actions with the children in your household is important to ensure they know what to do when the unexpected occurs.

As recovery from the late June storms and flooding continues, Michiganders should consider ways to reduce the risk of damage to their homes and businesses when future disasters occur. Federal assistance may be available from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to help you do so.
