PANAMA CITY, Fla. — FEMA has approved $2,023,745 for the state of Florida to reimburse the Bay County Sheriff’s Office for the cost of emergency protective measures taken after Hurricane Michael.

 

This grant reimburses the sheriff’s office for response and recovery efforts, such as search and rescue, traffic control and safety patrol following the October 2018 storm.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — FEMA has announced a six-month extension of the temporary housing program through Oct. 11, 2020 in Bay, Calhoun, Gadsden, Gulf and Jackson counties. The initial 18-month program was available through April 11, 2020.

 

Since the 2018 storm, FEMA has provided rent-free temporary housing units for 925 displaced families in the Florida Panhandle. Working with the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) and local partners, more than half of these families have found a more permanent home.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Help is still available for Hurricane Michael survivors through the Disaster Case Management (DCM) program.

 

DCM case managers work closely with disaster survivors to identify their recovery needs, develop a goal-oriented recovery plan and match them with resources to help them achieve disaster recovery.

 

FEMA works closely with state, local and community partners to identify the many recovery programs, resources and services available for survivors.
