Project Description
In the last 25 years, Ottawa has worked hard to address climate change and increased flooding. To mitigate the increasing flood risk, the city proposes to demolish the YMCA building and convert the property into open space to eliminate the potential for future flood damage.
In conjunction with this project, the YMCA plans to rebuild at a location outside the floodplain with the goal of permanently addressing the flood threat caused by climate change and protect the community from future damage.
