FEMA Event
The Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will evaluate a Biennial Radiological Emergency Preparedness Exercise for communities around the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station. The exercise will occur during the week of October 21, 2024 to assess the ability of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to respond to an emergency at the nuclear facility.

La Agencia Federal para el Manejo de Emergencias (FEMA, por sus siglas en inglés) anunció hoy que apoyará 43 ejercicios de preparación en 38 gobiernos estatales, locales, tribales y territoriales mediante el Programa Nacional de Simulacros. FEMA announced it will support 43 preparedness exercises across 38 state, local, tribal, and territorial governments through the National Exercise Program. Exercises play a vital role in building capacity in emergency preparedness and this support is provided at no-cost to the communities. Exercise experts from FEMA will work closely with each selected jurisdiction to design, conduct and evaluate their approved exercises.
