Exercises

Virtual presentation offered jointly by FEMA to provide an overview of the connections among continuous improvement activities, exercises, and the Threat Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment/Stakeholder Preparedness Review (THIRA/SPR).

FEMA will host a series of webinars and open office hours to discuss the exercise support process, including how to request technical assistance for exercises.

FEMA NED will be accepting requests for exercise support as part of the National Exercise Program 2025 Exercise Support Request (ESR) Round, from January 1, 2025, through March 3, 2025. After the submission deadline, NED will review all requests received and issue support decisions by July 1, 2025.

The Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will evaluate a Biennial Radiological Emergency Preparedness Exercise for communities around the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station. The exercise will occur during the week of October 21, 2024 to assess the ability of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to respond to an emergency at the nuclear facility.

The Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will evaluate a Biennial Radiological Emergency Preparedness Exercise for communities around the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant. The exercise will occur during the week of September 10, 2024, to assess the ability of the State of Maryland to respond to an emergency at the nuclear facility.
