Environmental Requirements to Apply for FEMA Funding

When a community applies for FEMA funding — such as Public Assistance, Hazard Mitigation Assistance or Preparedness Grants — potential impacts to the environment and cultural resources must be considered.

BURLINGTON, VT — The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has obligated more than $2.6 million in federal assistance to the state of Vermont to help cover costs of the Oct. 29-30, 2017, severe storm and flooding that impacted 10 of the 14 counties in the Green Mountain State.

REGION 1 – The Vermont Electric Cooperative will receive $1,743,876 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the repair of 54 transformers and 2,887 miles of transmission and distribution electric conductor line poles damaged in the October 2017 severe storm and flooding.
