The Ascension Parish Government prioritizes drainage and residential mitigation programs to help shape more resilient communities and the project will focus on climate-resilient mitigation activities, utilizing nature-based solutions such as installing rain gardens and rain barrels for stormwater management to provide soil stabilization, protect streams from pollution, and offer ecosystem benefits.
The proposed project will elevate five repetitive and severe repetitive loss structures that have experienced repeated flooding incidents and a total of 10 claims among the structures.
