President Donald J. Trump Amends Major Declaration for Florida

WASHINGTON – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today that additional disaster assistance is available to the state of Florida. The additional assistance authorizes an increase in the level of federal funding to the state for debris removal as a result of Hurricane Irma.

Under the major disaster declaration issued for the state of Florida on Sept. 10, federal funding was made available for debris removal at 75 percent of the total eligible costs.

Under the President’s order today, the Federal share for debris removal, including direct Federal assistance, has been increased to 90 percent of the total eligible costs for one period of 30 consecutive days established by the State of Florida, applicable to all eligible applicants.
