WASHINGTON – FEMA announced today the departure of Roy E. Wright. Mr. Wright will begin serving as the next President and Chief Executive Officer of the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety on April 25.  David Maurstad will serve as Acting Deputy Associate Administrator for Insurance and Mitigation as well as the Director of the National Flood Insurance Program.

From Administrator Brock Long, “Roy made tremendous strides in updating the National Flood Insurance Program to ultimately benefit the policy holder, and create a more solid financial framework for the program. I personally want to thank Roy for his service to this country and wish him well in his new endeavor. While we are sad to see him go, we are thrilled that we will continue working alongside him to strengthen American communities against manmade and natural disasters. FEMA will continue to prioritize efforts to reduce the impact of future disasters on individuals and communities, working closely with the private sector to increase insurance coverage for all hazards.”
