Description
This dataset contains a list of FEMA declaration types, and the types of assistance authorized. It also provides references to the FEMA disaster web page as well as geospatial information. One record per disaster. For more information on the disaster declaration process, please visit https://www.fema.gov/disasters/how-declared.
This is raw, unedited data from FEMA's National Emergency Management Information System (NEMIS) and as such is subject to a small percentage of human error. The dataset is primarily composed of historical data that was manually entered into NEMIS after it launched in 1998.
Geospatial references (shapefileUrl, kmzfileUrl, geoRssFeed) are offered starting with calendar year 2010. Shapefiles prior to this year are not available. Geospatial file references are not available for fire incidents.
