The Resilient Nation Partnership Network (RNPN) represents a network of voices united in their commitment to help communities act and become more resilient toward natural disasters. What started as a handful of like-minded partners has flourished to over 6000 individuals representing over 1500 organizations. Our mission is to inform, educate, and motivate communities to protect themselves from the loss of life, property, and prosperity as a result of natural hazards.
Ten years ago, the Resilient Nation Partnership Network started as a response to a question: How do we develop a network that can drive actionable change to build a resilient nation? In 2015, the RNPN was formed to cultivate relationships with non-traditional organizations, bring new voices to the table, and advance the resilience conversation. The Network strives to connect and empower states, tribes, territories, local communities, and their partner organizations to share information, tools, successes, and opportunities. This approach is key to collectively increasing local capacity to prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural hazards. By prioritizing local capacity-building, we are ensuring that as we help to strengthen our partners’ resilience, we are building a more resilient nation.
We all have a stake in creating a more resilient nation. None of us can do it alone. By placing the success of the whole community at the forefront, our collective impact as a network continues to grow and strengthen.
Our Priorities
The Resilient Nation Partnership Network is driven by three central priorities which influence our work, partnerships, programming, and strategic goals.
- Promoting natural hazard mitigation.
- Advancing community resilience initiatives.
- Expanding capacity through partnerships.

Partnership Forum
The Partnership Forum is hosted by FEMA and a different partner organization each year. During this event, we discuss topics across resilience and mitigation. By convening experts who represent all facets of the Whole Community, the Forum provides a chance to discuss some of the most complex challenges facing our nation. It fosters an exchange of lessons learned, best practices and personal stories, while promoting collaboration on innovative ideas to community development and advance natural hazard resilience.

The RNPN is an opt-in, peer-to-peer network founded on sharing and leveraging knowledge to advance action around our three priorities. We don’t require a formal agreement with our partners. All we ask for is your participation, motivation, and collaboration. Working together in collective ways to harness the power of many is more impactful than acting alone.
