NFIP New and Future Policyholders Have Multiple Ways to Stay Informed

Release Date:
Avril 18, 2017

Baton Rouge, La. — National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) policyholders and residents interested in learning more about the program can call the FEMA helpline or their insurance company for assistance. The NFIP provides affordable flood insurance to homeowners, condo owners, business owners and renters. Flood insurance covers more damage than federal disaster assistance. NFIP payments are not dependent on state or federal disaster declarations.

Call center NFIP staff are available to assist with information regarding policies, offer flood and recovery guidance and locate an insurance agent for future policyholders.

The FEMA helpline is 800-621-3362. Operators are available Monday through Friday from
8 a.m. to 6 p.m. If you use TTY, call 800-462-7585. Those who use 711 or Video Relay Service can call 800-621-3362.
