Since the federal disaster declaration for Hurricane Ian, Lee County residents have received more than $491.7 million in federal funds as of Oct. 31, 2022:

  • $280.7 million in FEMA grants to homeowners and renters.
  • $211 million in U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) low-interest disaster loans approved for homeowners, renters and businesses.

Individual Assistance in Lee County

86,941 homeowners and renters have been approved for $280,784,322 in federal grants through FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program. This includes:

  • $201,030,826 in Housing Assistance grants for home repair, home replacement, and/or rental assistance.
  • $79,753,496 in Other Needs Assistance grants to replace essential household items and for other critical disaster-related expenses.
  • 15,710 homeowners and renters have been approved for rental assistance.
  • 52,980 home inspections issued; 51,630 completed.
  • Disaster Survivor Assistance (DSA) visited 34,822 households in Lee County.

U.S. Small Business Administration

SBA has approved $211,065,407 in low-interest disaster loans to 2,691 applicants in Lee County.

  • SWFL, Inc Office, 25071 Chamber of Commerce Dr., Bonita Springs, FL 34135
    • Hours: Sunday - Monday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Kiwanis Club of Cape Coral, 360 Santa Barbara Blvd. S., Cape Coral FL 33991
    • Hours: Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Closed: Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Public Assistance

Lee County was approved for assistance for debris removal, emergency protective measures and permanent work.
