Saguache County’s flood insurance rate map update is nearing completion. The new maps will provide Saguache County and the Town of Saguache with more accurate flood risk information that can help local officials and residents make informed decisions about reducing flood risks and purchasing flood insurance.
At the request and direction of the state and local officials, teams from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) may be in your community at the locations listed below. FEMA can help register affected individuals and households impacted by the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and wildfires that occurred March 14-15, 2025 and the tornados that occurred on May 16, 2025.

CLANTON, Ala. – After a disaster, scam artists, identity thieves and other criminals often attempt to take advantage of disaster survivors. Federal and Alabama emergency management officials urge residents to watch for and report any suspicious activity.

When a disaster strikes, unscrupulous people may try to take advantage of survivors by posing as official disaster aid workers or even as relatives trying to help survivors complete their applications.
