FEMA disaster assistance may provide grant funds to homeowners and renters in Leon County for basic home repairs, rental of temporary housing and other uninsured and underinsured expenses resulting from the May 10 severe storms and tornadoes.
The State of Florida and FEMA have opened a Disaster Recovery Center in Leon County, to provide one-on-one help to people affected by the May 10 severe storms, straight-line winds and tornadoes. The center will remain open until further notice.
Survivors should be aware that con artists and criminals may try to obtain money or steal personal information through fraud or identity theft after a disaster.
FEMA Disaster Survivor Assistance (DSA) teams are working in Leon County communities impacted by the May 10 severe storms and tornadoes to help people apply for FEMA assistance and provide referrals to other disaster resources.
