Oklahoma renters in McClain and Pottawatomie counties designated for Individual Assistance who had damage, losses or are unable to live in their homes after the April 19-20 severe storms, straight-line winds and tornadoes, may be eligible for help from FEMA.
Many Oklahomans may have lost important items in the severe storms, straight-line winds and tornadoes that occurred April 19-20, including documents that may be needed when applying for disaster assistance.
All survivors who apply for FEMA assistance will receive a letter from FEMA stating an eligibility determination and the reason for it. Oklahomans can also check the status of their applications online at DisasterAssistance.gov, which is the fastest way to get information to and from FEMA.
FEMA and the State of Oklahoma will open two joint Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in McClain and Pottawatomie counties on Tuesday, May 2 to help survivors affected by the severe storms, straight-line winds and tornadoes that occurred April 19-20.
