Since Hurricane Ida struck, 564,544 applications have been approved, putting more than $1.2 billion in the hands of survivors. Individual Assistance grants helped Louisianans clean up their homes, pay their bills, repair their vehicles, get reimbursed for generators, find temporary places to live, and much, much more.
52,176 households received grants totaling more than $363 million for home repairs (not covered by insurance)
194,184 households (49,760 owners and 144,424 renters) received temporary rental assistance, totaling more than $323 million.

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Disaster Recovery Centers located in Houma and Garyville are scheduled to close permanently on Wednesday, Dec. 22.
BATON ROUGE, La. – The Disaster Recovery Center located at the Roller Kingdom in Hammond will close at 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 18.
BATON ROUGE, La. – FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers remain open in Jefferson, Lafourche, St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, Tangipahoa and Terrebonne parishes to provide in-person assistance to residents impacted by Hurricane Ida.
The deadline to apply for individual assistance has already passed, but FEMA remains in Louisiana to assist with long-term recovery and rebuilding following Hurricane Ida. Here’s how FEMA and its federal partners continue the mission, and what assistance survivors can still seek in the weeks and months ahead.
This holiday season, as Louisiana homeowners and renters continue to receive disaster funds, FEMA wants to remind you that federal grant money may only be used for disaster-related expenses.
