More Than $1.6 Million Approved to High Point for Hurricane Florence Repairs

 

DURHAM, N.C. – The State of North Carolina and FEMA are announcing more than $1.6 million to reimburse expenses to the City of High Point for Hurricane Florence-related repairs.

 

The funds reimburse repairs to the Riverdale Wastewater Treatment Plant in Jamestown. Flooding from Hurricane Florence damaged the facility on Riverdale Drive.

Elizabethtown Approved for More Than $5.2 Million to Repair Cemetery

 

DURHAM, N.C. – The State of North Carolina and FEMA have approved more than $5.2 million to reimburse an Elizabethtown cemetery following Hurricane Florence-related damage.

Hurricane Florence’s heavy rainfall saturated the cemetery adjacent to the Cape Fear River to cause about half of its grounds to sink. Ground saturation also shifted many of the more than 2,800 burial sites.
