As Tropical Storm Debby continues to impact communities across the Southeast, President Biden approved an emergency declaration for North Carolina, which authorizes FEMA to provide federal assistance to save lives, protect property and public health and safety.
In response to Hurricane Debby, President Biden approved emergency declarations for Georgia and South Carolina yesterday, in addition to an emergency declaration for the state of Florida on Sunday.
FEMA announced today that federal disaster assistance is available to the state of Georgia to supplement response efforts due to emergency conditions resulting from Hurricane Debby beginning Aug. 4, 2024, and continuing.
