New Jersey will raise homes in many coastal communities to reduce flood damage risk.
Margate, New Jersey: $4.10 million
This project involves properties that lie in several coastal communities, including Brigantine, Cape May City, Ventnor, Margate, Longport, Atlantic City, and Somers Point. There have been 25 severe repetitive and repetitive loss paid claims across the 22 structures following multiple flood events that have led to high repair costs.
The project aims to mitigate flood damage to these properties by raising these homes to at least one foot over the Base Flood Elevation. This will help them meet the requirements of New Jersey and comply with local flood protection ordinances that improve flood protection and reduce the risk of flood damage.
