Monroe County will conduct mitigation reconstruction for eight single-family homes.
Monroe County, Florida: $1.57 million
Project Description
Monroe County will carry out mitigation reconstruction for eight single-family homes that have received three National Flood Insurance Program claims payments, which have been made between the homes. The project proposes to demolish the current homes and build new code-compliant, hazard-resistant structures three feet above the Base Flood Elevation (BFE) or to the elevation set by the local floodplain ordinance, whichever is higher. This includes the installation of five modular homes.
All electrical and mechanical equipment outside of the structures will be elevated to the height required by local codes and ordinances. Any enclosed space at grade level shall have hydrostatic vents used for storage or parking and the new homes will be built in place on open foundation systems with piers and concrete footers.
