Fort Lauderdale, Florida will elevate a single-family property for enhanced flood protection.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida: $260,250
Project Description
The city of Fort Lauderdale aims to provide flood protection to a single-family property by elevating the residential structures a minimum of two feet above the Base Flood Elevation (BFE). The two-story structure was built in 1969 and is within the coastal AE flood zone with a BFE of 6 feet. This project includes constructing a continuous foundation wall to elevate the structure to a base flood elevation of 8 feet.
This will also involve building and site preparation activities, utility disconnection and reconnection, and the elevation of utilities and equipment to the required height that will mitigate flooding and minimize losses by protecting the habitable living areas of the structure and ensuring compliance with relevant building codes and floodplain regulations. The project will provide protection against a 100-year storm event and adhere to applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations, as well as National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) standards.
