St. Petersburg, Florida: $405,195

Project Description

The city of St. Petersburg will elevate a single-family residence to address flood risks. The structure was built in 1954 and is within the coastal AE flood zone with a Base Flood Elevation (BFE) of nine feet. To comply with the city's standards for development in flood hazard areas, the structure will be elevated at least two feet above the BFE, up to a maximum of 14 feet above grade through slab elevation, construction of new footers and foundation walls, and the disconnection of utilities to create appropriate access to the elevated living spaces.

The project will prevent floodwaters from reaching the living areas and mitigate damage caused by repeated flooding events and adhere to relevant building codes and regulations to protect against a 100-year storm event, ensuring the property's resilience to future floods.
