Project Description
The city of Fort Lauderdale plans to elevate two single-family residences that have had two repetitive and severe repetitive loss claims. The structures are currently within the coastal AH flood zone, has a Base Flood Elevation (BFE) of seven feet. The project aims to elevate the existing structures at least three feet above the BFE and needs a minimum design flood elevation of 10 feet.
The project includes the construction of stem wall foundations, site preparation, utility disconnection and the creation of appropriate means of ingress and egress to ensure that floodwaters will not reach the living areas, will comply with relevant building codes and regulations, and provide protection against a 100-year storm event.
