Marysville will install an additional spillway to bolster flood control infrastructure.
Marysville, California: $50 million
Project Description
The New Bullards Bar Dam facility provides flood control, water supply, hydroelectricity and recreation opportunities for over 81,000 people northeast of Marysville in Yuba County. Much of Yuba County and the surrounding areas are economically disadvantaged and have been impacted by five major floods since 1950. The Atmospheric River Control spillway project creates a secondary spillway for the dam which can both reduce the amount of water flowing on the Yuba and Feather rivers during storm events and protect levees and other flood control infrastructure in the region.
