Apply for Disaster Assistance by 11:59 p.m. Friday

Residents can apply for federal disaster assistance the following ways:

  •  Visit a disaster recovery center by 7 p.m. Friday
  •  Apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov
  •  Call 800-621-3362 (FEMA), voice/VP/711. Multilingual operators are available. TTY users may call 800-462-7585. Lines are open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Six Months After Earthquake, State and Federal Agencies Help Alaskans Recover
As Alaska moves from response to recovery from the Nov. 30 earthquake, state and federal partners are providing technical and tangible assistance to help individuals and communities make meaningful strides toward normalcy.

Disaster Recovery Centers to Close Friday
Federal disaster recovery centers in Anchorage and Eagle River will cease operations at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 31. Have you visited a recovery center? Center staff will help residents affected by the Nov. 30 earthquake with disaster assistance applications, appeals and low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration. To find the nearest recovery center, visit fema.gov/drc.

After the recovery centers close, Alaska residents can get updates about their applications, learn about the appeals process or check the status of their claims with just a phone call

  • Call the helpline at 800-621-3362 (FEMA), voice/VP/711. Help is available in most languages. TTY users may call 800-462-7585. Lines are open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Visit FEMA online at DisasterAssistance.gov.

DISASTER RECOVERY CENTERS

Disaster recovery centers in Anchorage and Eagle River will cease operations at 7 p.m. Friday.
The centers assist residents affected by the quake. FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration and other agencies are available to help with applications, appeals and low-interest disaster loans.

U.S. Small Business Administration Disaster Loan Outreach Centers
On June 3, three SBA disaster loan outreach centers will be serving those affected by the Nov. 30 earthquake. These centers allow SBA representatives to meet with business owners, homeowners and renters to help them with the disaster loan application process and close their approved loans. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday at:

SBA helps businesses of all sizes, private nonprofit organizations, homeowners and renters fund repairs or rebuilding efforts and cover the cost of replacing lost or disaster-damaged personal property.

Filing deadline for individuals with physical property damage is May 31.
Filing deadline for businesses for economic injury loans is Nov 1.
