DENVER – This week, FEMA approved South Dakota’s Mitigation Plan.  For the first time the plan meets the criteria for “enhanced” status, signifying the state’s commitment to hazard mitigation and making the state eligible for increased federal mitigation funding.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced a federal grant for the State of Colorado that will make more than $1.2 million dollars available to Boulder County to help mitigate the against wildfires.
