A few days remain for Kentucky homeowners and renters who had property damage or loss caused by the severe storms from Feb. 27 to March 14 to apply for federal disaster assistance. The deadline to apply is Friday, July 23.

As of July 20, 2021, the following federal assistance has been approved for the residents in the designated counties of Davidson, Williamson and Wilson counties for losses from the storms, tornadoes and flooding that occurred March 25 through April 3. The deadline to apply for assistance was July 7, 2021.

At 1:23 a.m. on June 24, 2021 a large section of the Champlain Towers South condominium building in Surfside, Florida, collapsed. On June 25, President Biden signed an Emergency Declaration authorizing federal assistance to local and state resources. Federal agencies immediately mobilized to support the search operation, support for survivors, funding for the emergency operation and investigation of the cause of the tragedy.
