Hoy, durante una sesión informativa sobre los riesgos climáticos extremos, el Presidente Joseph R. Biden, Jr., el Secretario del Departamento de Seguridad Nacional, Alejandro Mayorkas y la Administradora de la Agencia Federal para el Manejo de Emergencias (FEMA, por sus siglas en inglés), Deanne Criswell, anunciaron los 656 proyectos seleccionados para recibir $1,000 millones en fondos para resiliencia climática como parte de su agenda "Invirtiendo en América". Las selecciones, realizadas mediante el programa Desarrollo de Infraestructura y Comunidades Resilientes (BRIC, por sus siglas en inglés) ayudará a los gobiernos estatales, tribales, locales y territoriales a abordar riesgos actuales y futuros por desastres naturales, incluso el calor extremo, incendios forestales, sequías, huracanes, terremotos y el incremento de inundaciones.

President Joseph R. Biden, Jr., Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell today announced the 656 project selections for $1 billion in climate resilience funding as part of his Investing in America agenda. The selections through the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities program will help state, Tribal, local and territorial governments address current and future risks from natural disasters including extreme heat, wildfires, drought, hurricanes, earthquakes and increased flooding.
