Veronica (Roni) M. Glass, a member of the Senior Executive Service (SES), serves as the Director, Continuity Division Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), Office of National Continuity Programs (ONCP). In this position, Ms. Glass serves as the DHS Continuity Manager leading the Department’s efforts to continue its most critical missions, regardless of the operating environment. She accomplishes this through leading a dedicated team committed to the execution of Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Government, operational readiness, Test, Training, and Exercise, and internal critical infrastructure resilience assessments.
Before joining DHS and now FEMA, Ms. Glass served in several leadership roles with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) culminating in her appointment as the CBP Continuity Manager. Ms. Glass joined DHS Headquarters in 2011 as a COOP Officer rising through the leadership ranks to her current position where she provides executive vision, leadership, and direction to all DHS Component continuity programs. She oversees Department-wide continuity effort that enable enterprise-wide resilience, preparedness, and readiness activities to ensure the more than 240,000 DHS personnel can maintain their missions, regardless of the operating environment. To accomplish this, she promotes a “culture of continuity” striving to incorporate continuity requirements into daily business practices, while fostering the vision that COOP is not a place but a desired outcome.
Ms. Glass has over 40+ years of public service to our great nation which has provided her in-depth experience, knowledge, certified training opportunities, and numerous recognitions at all levels of government and management. She is a certified Associate Business Continuity Professional and Master Exercise Practitioner. She studied Information Security at the National Defense University and completed coursework at University of Maryland. She also holds a Master Certificate in Project Management from The George Washington University, Washington, DC. Ms. Glass is dedicated to service and to the success of her assigned organization.
