Leslie Saucedo was selected and sworn in as the Director of the Office of Civil Rights this September. She joined FEMA in 2020 and originally served as the Director of OER’s External Civil Rights Division. Prior to these positions, she served as the Senior Advisor within the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of Departmental Equal Employment Opportunity and the Deputy Assistant within U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Office of Diversity and Civil Rights. Earlier in her career, Ms. Saucedo served as an Attorney Advisor for the U.S. Department of Commerce, focusing on employment matters, and practiced law in the private sector representing corporations and individuals. Leslie obtained her B.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University and her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School.
