Help Remains for Survivors in Scott County after DRC Closes June 7

DES MOINES, Iowa – The state/federal Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Davenport will close permanently at 2 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2019. 

The DRC is located at the Old Office Max, 320 W. Kimberly Road, Davenport, IA 52806 and will be open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday – Thursday, and 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Friday.

DRCs are one-stop information centers that provide a place for homeowners, renters and business owners who sustained damage from the severe storms and flooding to get critical disaster recovery information in a face-to-face setting.

Individuals and businesses in all counties included in the Iowa federal disaster declaration for the March 12 – May 16 severe storms and flooding may still get help and register for FEMA assistance before the Monday, July 1, deadline in these ways:

  • Go online to www.disasterassistance.gov.
  • Call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362.      Phone lines are open 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. local time, seven days a week until further notice. Multilingual operators are on duty.
  • Use FEMA’s disaster app on your smartphone. If you haven’t downloaded the app yet, you can go to www.fema.gov/mobile-app.

U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Help: SBA representatives are available to help at a Business Recovery Center (BRC) in Scott County, where they provide information to residents and businesses on the SBA disaster loan program. Appointments are not required. Information about how to apply for low-interest SBA loans for businesses and residents is available online at SBA.gov/disaster. You may also call 800-659-2955 or email DisasterCustomerService@sba.gov. Individuals who are deaf or low‑hearing may call 800-877-8339. The BRC location and hours are:
