WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the Hoopa Valley Tribe to supplement the Tribe’s recovery efforts in the areas affected by a severe winter storm from January 3 to January 5, 2017.
Federal funding is available to the Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe winter storm.
Federal funding is also available to the Tribe on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures.
Timothy J. Scranton has been named as the Federal Coordinating Officer for federal recovery operations in the affected area. Scranton said additional designations may be made at a later date if requested by the Tribe and warranted by the results of further damage assessments.
