19FD-01-URAT - Rations, Unit-Feeding

Description

Unit-feeding rations are shelf-stable, pre-cooked meal systems designed to support functional units in the field. These unit meals are designed to be deployed after the initial logistical supply stream has been developed, but before a formal Food Unit with onsite meal preparation capabilities is in place. Normally, this would be between 24 and 72 hours from the start of initial deployment.

Grant Notes

Prior to the allocation of grant funds for stockpiling purposes, each state must have FEMA?s approval of a five-year viable inventory management plan which should include a distribution strategy and related sustainment costs if planned grant expenditure is over $100,000.
