Radiological Emergency Preparedness Program Manual

Event Details

FEMA has updated the Radiological Emergency Preparedness (REP) Program Manual, which provides planning and assessment guidance for state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) partners in the vicinity of a commercial nuclear power plant.

The 2023 REP Program Manual (RPM) provides guidance on preparedness for radiological emergencies at commercial nuclear power plants.  The manual is divided into five distinct parts.  Part I of the manual provides a program overview.  Part II of the manual provides planning guidance derived from the planning standards identified in 44 CFR Part 350 and NUREG 0654/FEMA REP-1, Rev.2. Guidance on assessment of preparedness capabilities is described in Part III of the REP Program Manual.  Part IV of the manual provides guidance on administering the REP Program.  Part V of the manual provides guidance on design of alert and notification systems.

FEMA will host a series of 60–90-minute webinars to provide an overview of notable changes found in the 2023 REP Program Manual.  Each webinar will focus on one or two specific parts of the manual. Advanced registration is required.
