The deadline for Tennesseans to apply for FEMA assistance after the Dec. 9, 2023, storms and tornadoes has passed but Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and FEMA continue helping survivors and communities recover from the disaster.

A public notice has been posted describing available FEMA assistance and proposed FEMA-funded actions, including activities that may affect historic properties, threatened and endangered species, critical habitat, or wetlands and floodplains in Tennessee.

A Disaster Recovery Center will open at noon Thursday, Feb. 8, at Nashville State Community College North Davidson Campus, 1520 Gallatin Pike North in Madison. Effective Friday, operating hours will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday until further notice.
